Meet the Tenant Advisory Group

Our new Tenant Advisory Group is made up or tenants across Wales, Shropshire and Telford. They meet regularly with us in the office or over zoom as well as with Board members. The group gets to share their opinions on things that are important to them to make sure that their voice is heard.

This year we asked tenants what home meant to them and will take forward their feedback to ensure it is considered in future home designs for future tenants. This year our Tenant Advisory group also helped re shape our vision, values and mission statement for the Association to make them more accessible and easier to understand.

We have seen growing confidence among members of our Tenant Advisory Group, especially in how they share views and take part in decision-making at First Choice. Having Tenant voices at board level has helped improve FCHA by making decisions more tenant focused and empowering them to have a truly meaningful voice over what happens.

Below are our current members of the Tenant Advisory group, what they are interested in and why they joined the group!

Richie

I am Richie from Cardiff, I like going to lots of Gigs as I am a Gig Buddy. I have recently attended gigs such as Green Man Rising,
Panic Shack and Lemfreck. I also enjoy watching and attending wrestling. I like to volunteer as I like to help others. I also work with Innovate Trust as a participation officer.

I like the Advisory Group as it keeps me busy, I get to meet staff and tenants and my confidence has grown since starting at
the group.

Gareth

My name is Gareth and I enjoy watching Cardiff City play, Watching Rugby and playing bowls.
I like to feel included, seeing everyone and feeling like i’m making a difference.

Michelle

Hi I’m Michelle from Powys. I have lots of hobbies including shopping, theatre, seeing my daughter and attending local events.

I like speaking to the group, voicing my wants and needs concerning housing issues and meeting other tenants.

Toni

I’m Toni from Wales. I like attending the phab club, hanging out with my boyfriend and chatting to people.

I really like being in the Tenant Advisory Group and being a part of a team.

Dan

Hi I’m Daniel. I live in England, I like
baking cheese scones, gardening
and going on the canal boat.

I like meeting everyone at the Tenant Advisory Group.

Lloyd

I’m Lloyd from Maesteg, I enjoy
computers, socialising and boxing!

I like the Tenant Advisory Group as I get to meet new people, and it gives me the confidence to talk in front of others.

Poppy

My name is Poppy and I live in North Wales. I love reading, spending time with my cats and making cards.

I really enjoy helping people which is why I am in the group to begin with.

Ann-Marie

I am Ann-marie and I live in Shropshire. I enjoy watching TV, playing on my ipad and going shopping.

I like that I am able to talk about my home and help tenants have a voice.

James

My name is James from Pembrokeshire and I am interested in Media.

I have my own YouTube channel and going for accessible walks and playing rugby.

I like that I have a voice for my housemates and other First Choice Tenants.
