We are looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to am to provide high quality repairs and inspections throughout South Wales. This role is a multi-skilled role which will include various carpentry, UPVC repairs and lock repairs. Basic plumbing and electrical skills are also required. It is essential that candidates have a full driving license, company van will be provided.

The association is renowned for its tenant participation and we are committed to working in partnership with our stakeholders to develop best practice in development, management and maintenance of accommodation for people with additional needs.


The association works closely with Local Authorities, NHS Trusts and a wide range of support providers. As an all-Wales association we are in a strong position to meet the demand for our services and to provide innovative solutions to local issues.


Multi Skilled Operative: The Work


  • To carry out works within set timescales and budgets, liaising with the Technical Services team / CSA team should further works require authorising.


  • To ensure all work is carried out safely in accordance with the Association’s code of conduct, working with FCHA customers and support staff to deliver a service which is sympathetic to our customer’s needs.


  • To comply with safe working practices and health and safety guidelines in relation to COSHH, PPE, Fire Safety and manual handling ensuring that licensees and visitors are not negatively affected by the activities of FCHA.


  • To ensure that appropriate clothing, uniform and ID are worn at all times and PPE is utilised when required for certain tasks.


  • To carry out various carpentry and external works to include such tasks as follows:

  • Lock Changes

  • Installing Key Safes

  • UPVC Repairs

  • Boarding Glass Windows & Measuring for Reglazing

  • Re-Secure Ease & Adjust Doors Including Door Furniture

  • Basic Garage Door Repairs

  • Renewal of Fence Posts and Fencing Repairs

  • Repairs to Aco Drains

  • Low Level Rainwater Goods

Work hours


Standard full time hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday. Flexible working hours including generous time off in lieu arrangements. We also offer agile working with a blend of home/office working. A working from home allowance is also provided of £50pcm.


Salary


£30,311 – £32,337 (SP25-SP27)

Today we share that Adrian Burke, our Chief Executive, has informed the Board of his decision to step down from the role. Adrian has secured a new opportunity outside the organisation and will be leaving FCHA following the completion of his contractual notice period.


During his time with us, Adrian has made an outstanding contribution to FCHA’s growth, culture, and impact. His leadership has strengthened the organisation and enhanced the services we provide to our tenants and the wider learning disability community. We extend our sincere thanks to Adrian for his dedication and achievements, and he will be greatly missed.


To ensure continuity and stability, the Board will now begin the process of recruiting our next Chief Executive, supported by a clear transition plan. Our experienced Executive team remains focused on delivering our mission and maintaining the high standards our tenants and partners expect from FCHA.


We wish Adrian every success in the next chapter of his career and thank him for everything he has brought to FCHA.
