As part of Mental Health week we will be sharing stories from our Tenants of their interactions with Nature and how they help their own mental health!

Gary from Welshpool loves going on natured walks and does so regularly

to raise money for charities.

"In October I did a sponsored walk along the canal from Newtown to Abermuleand back to Newtown. I completed 12 miles. I raised £200 for my local hospital in Welshpool. I enjoyed it very much and want to do a longer walk next year."

We have been given the opportunity, in partnership with Digital Communities Wales and funded by the Senedd, to loan tablets to tenants in supported accommodation throughout Wales, to enable them to access online communities and communicate with people during this tough period.

ree

Tablets were handed out to tenants in Abercrave, Brecon and Llandrindod Wells to encourage participation in online events that we host such as the Weekly Quiz

and Zoom Parties.

All of them were given how-to-use guides to help them learn how to make the most of the tablets with the help of their support staff from Cartrefi Cymru.

We are looking to hold more inclusion events like this in the near future. We hope this will help other tenants in similar situations get online and participate with FCHA and other online communities.

Every quarter, FCHA have a newsletter for tenants! These newsletters are an opportunity for tenants to share their stories with other FCHA tenants across Wales and Shropshire.

ree

Tenants can share their stories of their holidays, hobbies or what they would like to do during their day! Anyone who sends in a story can win a £10 voucher for sharing their stories.

We also have tips from our Technical Officer Phil for all of your housing troubles, updates from board meetings about how FCHA is doing and also the highlights from our Tenant events like the Discos and the Bowling.

If you would like to submit a story you can send them in to newsletter@fcha.org.uk
