Loaning Tenant Tech: Digital Communities Wales

We have been given the opportunity, in partnership with Digital Communities Wales and funded by the Senedd, to loan tablets to tenants in supported accommodation throughout Wales, to enable them to access online communities and communicate with people during this tough period.

Tablets were handed out to tenants in Abercrave, Brecon and Llandrindod Wells to encourage participation in online events that we host such as the Weekly Quiz

and Zoom Parties.

All of them were given how-to-use guides to help them learn how to make the most of the tablets with the help of their support staff from Cartrefi Cymru.

We are looking to hold more inclusion events like this in the near future. We hope this will help other tenants in similar situations get online and participate with FCHA and other online communities.

Fundraising: Movember

Some staff at FCHA have been raising money for our chosen charity by growing moustaches in November!

At the beginning some staff were already looking very stylish with their taches on show! Some of the staff were busy for the picture but rest assured they were keeping theirs well groomed during the month!

We picked Sunday Circle Cardiff as our charity. They provide opportunities for teenagers and young adults with learning disabilities to socialise with their peers. They are currently fundraising for a new minibus as their old one has broke several months ago!

Thanks to the incredible and generous donations, we reached our goal in 2 days! A big thank you to everyone who donated at the time.

We increased the goal to 2000 and at the final week we raised

£1722 for Sunday Circle.
